ABC President Klein To Speak At Nov. 10 Dallas WEB Meeting

You are invited to the DFW ISCEBS Monthly Luncheon
(International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists)

Topic: The Political & Legislative Outlook Going Into 2012!
Speaker: Jim Klein, President, American Benefits Council

Rarely is any organization able to get a “true” Washington insider to speak in the DFW area. Your Dallas Chapter is bringing one of the most knowledgeable insiders to let us know what is going on in Washington—just two weeks before the Congressional “Supercommittee” will release their recommendations. Jim Klein, President of the American Benefits Council will provide us tremendous insight into the Benefits challenges going into 2012.

The Supercommittee was established as part of the legislation to avoid a government default – will announce its proposals to cut the federal debt by $1.5 trillion over the next ten years. With employer-sponsored health and retirement benefits registering as the two largest expenditures in the Tax Code, benefits policy is sure to be “in the mix” in the Supercommittee’s deliberations and in the action Congress is scheduled to vote on before year end. Jim Klein, President of the American Benefits Council, will examine what the deficit reduction/tax reform efforts may mean for employer-sponsored plans and Social Security and Medicare; and what the implications might be if Congress fails to agree on budget savings. At the same time this debate is underway, Congress and the regulatory agencies are dealing with other items on the benefits agenda. Jim will discuss these, as well as preview how the Democrats and Republicans may approach employee benefits issues as the Presidential and Congressional elections approach.
